A bit about me...

I’m a freelance writer, based in Hamilton, New Zealand and I'm always on the lookout for challenging and satisfying writing work.

Since I enjoy all styles of writing, I'll write whatever needs writing - website content, marketing copy, press releases, blogs, newsletters - pretty much anything I can get my hands on if it allows me to keep making a living from writing.

If I had to pick a favourite, it would be writing feature articles for magazines, especially on subjects like health, social issues, travel and music, although I really will write on any subject because I love to research new things, meet people and hear their stories.  Strangely, I’ve recently discovered I enjoy writing about motoring.  Maybe that’s because I live in The Tron now.

I’ve had articles published in a range of New Zealand magazines over the years such as Little Treasures, Bike Rider Magazine, New Zealand Surfing Magazine and New Zealand Backpackers Magazine as well as regional newspapers including the Northern Advocate and Northland Age.  I’m a regular with Vegetarian Living New Zealand, where I write a column called Vegetarian Families.

Although I'm a New Zealander, I started my career in the USA with an internship at the Nipomo Herald Tribune, a community newspaper in California.  That was back in 2001/2002.  I was there when the Twin Towers came down so it was an interesting time and I was asked to do a lot of writing from a foreigner’s perspective.

Please make yourself at home and enjoy browsing through some of the samples of my work.  If you need something written, you know what to do!
