Tristan is a small, independent perfume studio creating natural fragrances by hand in New Zealand, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Each scent is blended from essential oils, plant materials and natural bases such as tinctures and resins. No synthetic fragrance ingredients are used. Everything is made in small batches, slowly and intentionally.

Most modern perfumery relies heavily on synthetic compounds. They’re cheaper, more consistent and make it easier to produce large volumes and replicate scents exactly. That approach works for commercial fragrance but it isn’t the kind of work this is.

These perfumes are built from real materials. Natural ingredients behave differently. They shift on the skin, soften, deepen and change over time. They’re less predictable but more alive.

Tristan believes smell is the most powerful sense. It's immediate and physical, closer to memory than sight or sound. You can watch something on a screen, but scent only exists when you’re actually there. It’s personal and it stays with you.

This work is about creating fragrances that feel grounded, close to the skin and part of everyday life. Not loud, not synthetic and not made for mass production. Just carefully crafted scent, by hand.
